ROLE: Data Analyst

LOCATION: Burlingame, CA / Open to remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

jaris is a dynamic and evolving startup and the environment can be fluid. Job responsibilities may be altered to accommodate changing business conditions and objectives as well as to tap into the skills and experience of its employees. Accordingly, employees may be asked to perform duties that are outside the specific work that is listed here:

  • Support Underwriting, Loan Ops, & Servicing teams in developing key metrics and ad-hoc reporting.

  • Develop understanding of core business principles and leverage data to identify or detect new credit risk patterns & behaviors across the portfolio.

  • Design, implement, and support key datasets & analysis that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information.

  • Communicate risk trends in the jaris portfolio to leadership and the business.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, finance, accounting, statistics, etc.)

  • 1+ years of data analysis experience in a professional/corporate setting.

  • Professional experience using SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).

  • Experience building dashboards using Mode (preferred), Tableau or similar.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven capability to work collaboratively and cross functionally, from the associates to the C-Suite.

  • Comfortable gathering business requirements across business functions.

  • Basic understanding of Python or similar statistical programming language (R, STATA).

Nice to Have:

  • Professional experience within the lending and credit space.

  • Professional experience using Python (or similar) & Jupyter Notebooks

  • Experience building scalable reporting infrastructure.

  • Any professional financial accreditations.

  • Exposure to data pipeline tools (Dagster, Apache AirFlow, etc.)
