LOCATION: Burlingame, CA / Open to remote

Position Summary
The Financial Analyst handles all aspects of day-to-day corporate entries and loan reconciliations for jaris. The ideal candidate will help the business grow while enforcing our corporate and financial policies. The Financial Analyst will quickly become an expert on our corporate financial management working directly with the finance team and the CFO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
jaris is a dynamic and evolving startup and the environment can be fluid. Accordingly, employees may be asked to perform duties that are outside the specific work that is listed here:
Key member of Finance team, working with the team on an array of tasks
Recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts as a part of the month-end close
Performing analysis over monthly financials in order to identify unusual trends
Driving month-end close process and compilation of monthly financial statements
Working collaboratively with other business units on financial initiatives and policy implementation
Engaging with external parties such as vendors, auditors, and tax preparers
Building tailored investor reporting on loan portfolios
Assisting in day-to-day financial operations with banks and other financial institutions
Minimum Job Qualifications:
CPA preferred - not required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
1-3 Years of work experience
Familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong communication skills required
Creativity to build structure around loosely defined projects
Working through start-up challenges in obtaining data / information when clean, and/or complete information is not available
Develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
Experience with fintech, payments, fund accounting, and alternative lending a plus
