Position Summary:
jaris is looking for a Loan Operations team member for our growing Operations team. Reporting to the COO, you will approve small business loans, facilitate loan renewals, and help jaris’ Partners onboard their merchant customers with new loan opportunities. Additionally, you will provide the entire jaris team with insights about the merchants we serve. You will quickly become an expert in our credit products and have an opportunity to impact the product roadmap and merchant experience on a small, agile team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of jaris’ business and combine that knowledge with an understanding of industry standards to develop and deliver on Key Performance Indicators
Ensure adherence to corporate underwriting policies and guidelines
Make discretionary decisions based on experience
Work closely with Engineering and Finance to leverage internal and external data to automate lending decisions.
Work closely with jaris Partner sales teams to fulfill new customer acquisition and sales requests
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and continue improving our tools
Work cross functionally with various internal teams to report and resolve issues and provide insights on our customer base
Review and analyze applicant financial data to determine creditworthiness
Facilitate loan renewals for existing borrowers
Manage daily queue activity to ensure service level agreements are met
Communicate effectively with borrowers via telephone and email
Minimum Job Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in commercial lending preferred
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, startup environment
Proven leadership, feedback, 1:1, growth, and other management skills
Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and results-oriented approach
Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills
Proven project management and time management skills
Experience managing vendors in financial services is a plus
Experience in a high-growth fintech environment is a plus
